Replacing Sheetmetal
First off, I'm new to this board and don't how I got along without it!! I've learned alot just by browsing...
I got this truck about a year ago, drove it and now it's time for some lovin... , nice original truck (2nd owner). I finnally got some cash together to attack the rust on the cab. Local shop has a good reputaion for doing 67-72's has a real nice project in works of his own. I just got an estimate to replace: Three cab mounts Both corners Both Rockers Floor braces Patch the floor pans Repair both doors (front lower corners) and Put in new bushings while the cab is in the air. $170 parts $150 misc shop supplies $1350 labor (30 hrs) High, Low or Just Right???

That sounds like a pretty great deal. I have over $200 in replacement metal for my cab and I get them at a discounted rate. I bought everything you are discussing plus discovered a couple other items once the old metal was cut out. Then I had to buy addition pieces to fix the cancer. I haven't even bought the metal for the doors yet.
I would want that in writing and be prepared for work creep as he will surely find more work than 30 hours on a cab needing those kinds of repairs. I would jump on it for that price, but that is just my .02

Hugger, I don't know of any truck clubs in the Wichita area. But there are a number of board members located in Ks, Ok, and MO. Someday we need to have a get together. Btw I'm going to need some bodywork and paint before to long. Is the shop your looking at in the Wichita area? Thanks.....Stroker
