Do you think this is restorable????

This is what happens when a worn out camper encounters 60+mph winds of West Texas.

Re: Do you think this is restorable????

Looks like a few years of water intrusion may have helped the process.

Seems to me that the "office" would be the safe place to be in a wind storm.

Re: Do you think this is restorable????

Can anyone say "box truck"? There's already a hole in the back of the cab. You could make the box the same size as the cab, pop in some plexiglass windows, throw 2 bench seats in, and have a ghetto suburban.

I like how the wind removed the driver's door and set it nicely against the truck!

You guys are fearless! I would have feared parts blowing off during transport. I assume you checked the floor for original bucket seat supports? Did it have a JG-tagged 4-core radiator in it?

We did not think about checking for bucket seat bracing. The seats in it are out of something else. I am not sure what jg-tagged radiator is but it is a super nice original 4 core that we will use on the show truck.

We bought the rig because it had a 34,000 mile 350/th400 and very nice sheet metal. We started taking off the good parts and I was dreading taking apart/hauling off the camper. Luckily I guess the wind made that decision for us by ripping off the roof and the entire rear end. Yes, we have used a saws-all to trim off some of the sides after the fact.

It is a shame that there is a big hole in the back of the cab because it is in near perfect shape other than that.

I think that a body repairman that worked at James Wood Chevrolet in Decatur TX did it on his own time.

After it was done he stated that it was not cheap but well worth the investment.
