My first project! '67 SWB C-10, soon to be Simply BLUEtiful
This is my first project ever! I have a '67 C-10 SWB that I'm working on and plan on completing in the near future. These pics below are from the 68 that we parted out to complete my 67 and also the short frame. I've been having a tremendous amount of fun with this project, its got me a little closer to a friend of mine who's like a big brother to me as well as teachin' (leave the 'g' off, I'm from Oklahoma) my sons what I know on these trucks...I'll upload more pics periodically and just giving you guys fair warning, it is far from any eye candy right now BUT I will get there soon

It'll be a 67 with the small back window on the cab.

Re: My first project! '67 SWB C-10, soon to be Simply BLUEtiful
My plans for the drive train are still up in the air. I've already pulled the sb 327 from the longbed that I parted out. Do you have any suggestions?

Re: My first project! '67 SWB C-10, soon to be Simply BLUEtiful
Like I mentioned before I'm a rookie at this but we pulled my sb 327 out of the longbed and it ran ok before pulling. Any suggestions on what to check for or replace. I know I'm changing the cam and lifters for sure, any suggestions on replacements for a strong motor to keep running???

Re: My first project! '67 SWB C-10, soon to be Simply BLUEtiful
Sounds like you've had a busy year! Nice job on the frame.
On the engine I would suggest pulling the heads and oil pan to inspect the rotating assembly and cylinder bore since you are going to be digging in and swapping the cam. That and upgrade to an HEI distributor. Probably obvious but: dist cap, rotor, spark plugs, wires, new carb or rebuild the existing one, a new intake manifold would probably be a good idea also to get the most from your cam upgrade, NOS Okay maybe not the NOS just yet. Later

Re: My first project! '67 SWB C-10, soon to be Simply BLUEtiful
I "tried" painting my block. I want to go with an alumium look on the block and heads. I still plan on getting those heads looked at and getting my cam and lifters installed plus all the obvious things. But here's are a couple of more pics of the engine which still has a way to go...
