Looks good, but if ya don't mind me asking, why did you replace the fenders? They just needed to be replaced or?

if you look in the first picture you can see that the drivers fender has a prttey good dent in it. i got a new gm hood, and pass. fender too, but the pass fender is good excpet for one small minor dent so i think i am just going to use it and put the new one up for safe keping, but a new inner fender is goin on the pass. side also cause there is a rudt hole right behind the wheel.. aint decided ont he hood yet. the hood thats on there has prob 10 or so dings that look sorta like hail damage or something. i may sell the new hood and repair the curent, but just aint decided yet. i got two shaved doors to put on also but i aint gonna have time to put them on this week, maybe i can do it next weekend. some or another before i paint it i'm going to put my 383 under the hood too, i just gotta get some heads.
LOHRTBT-i ordered all this stuff from car parts online 1 89-112 1991 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN HEAD LAMP LH (DRIVER SIDE) $39.95 $39.95 1 89-113 1991 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN HEAD LAMP LH (DRIVER SIDE) $39.95 $39.95 1 89-114 1991 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN HEAD LAMP RH (PASSENGER SIDE) $39.95 $39.95 1 89-115 1991 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN HEAD LAMP RH (PASSENGER SIDE) $39.95 $39.95 1 12-1559-01 1991 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN PARK LAMP RH (PASSENGER SIDE) $15.95 $15.95 1 12-1560-01 1991 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN PARK LAMP LH (DRIVER SIDE) $15.95 $15.95 2 11438 1991 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN HEAD LAMP PIGTAIL $13.95 $27.90 2 11439 1991 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN HEAD LAMP PIGTAIL $13.95 $27.90 1 6971 1991 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN GRILLE $81.95 $81.95 1 6973 1991 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN HEAD LAMP DOOR LH (DRIVER SIDE) $20.95 $20.95 1 6972 1991 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN HEAD LAMP DOOR RH (PASSENGER SIDE) $20.95 $20.95 which totals $371.35 add to that $318.24(not incl. tax) for the new gm rad.core support #15641713 i got from local dealership which i am glad i bought. it's a nice piece and it and the gm fender fit perfect. all the stuff i bought was good except for the grill and headlight doors from car parts online, it's the cheapest damn thing i ever seen. I spent over two hours fitting and trimming and stuff to get to line up decent. i would have to say its a piece of crap. i would suggest anyone not getting the grill parts from them but the lights and stuff were fine. i got a good mind to get new grill from gm, i'm sure it would fit better and the quality i'm sure would be lots better too total-$689.59(tax and shipping not included) the only other thing i bought were new screw clips to hold the grill on. the old ones would have worked but were all rusty. i got them at autozone for a few bucks. I also used all my old headlight adjusting screws and springs since i already had the 4 headlights setup. if you have the two head light setup i guess you would need to buy 4 adjusters and two springs. |

Dave.....no I hadn't actually, I kinda like the clean look of the black. It looks a little to plain to some people but I've always been a fan of the subtle things. I wouldn't mind seeing how it would look with the billet one but I'm not sure I'd want to invest in one just to see. Do you think it would look better with the billet insert?

I dunno Matt...>It might just add a really nice look , Dont get me wrong I love it the way it is. But I am going to do it for sure when I get mine set up. I just like that opening much better than the Chevy front. You dont see as many either.
Tell ya what ... IF I ever get it done and billetized...we can pop it on yours and see what you think.

And yes Eric I remember.
I am going to have to redo my rollpan when I do this...since it will make it easier to loosen the fender and put in the new support. I got a huge dent the other day in the front pan from a rock or bolt on the highway. GRRRR!! seriously...its like the size of a quarter or bigger..took the paint off!

hopefully i'll be able to do it before you though
and if i put a rollpan up front, its gonna be fiberglass bolt on one, so its not that hard to undo and mess with the fenders and whatnot |

Dave.....I think it would look better on your's than mine.....I think the difference in paint scheme and color make it a better fit on your truck. I wonder how your's would look with the insert painted the same color as the front of your truck.......sometimes you just have too many options.....LOL.....but when you get the parts in to do your's, give me a call, I'd love to come up and check it out. If we get a chance we can do like you said and change them out just to see how it would look.
ocbaud.....thanks man, I'm glad you like it. To be honest I'm glad I like it too, cuz I'm tired of doing body work on this freakin' thing.
