Which carb to go with??

I think this can go in here if not mod please move to the proper place.
I have a 1987 Crew Cab with what is supposed to be the original Quarajet carb. The choke seems to be havin problems and the trucj runs a little rich. Rather than messing with it I am thinking of replaceing the carb all together. what would be a suitable replacement? I currently have the 454bb which has been bored 40 over, a mild cam, long tube headers, edelbrock performer intake and 4.10 gears. i am not looking for more power ojust a decent replacement. Any suggestions on something that would be a direct replacement??

Re: Which carb to go with??

As far as direct replacement i think your going to have to do little modifications here and there no matter what (at least i had to) i went from edelbrock to holley now to demon. For the money i would go with a Holley Double Pumper 750 maybe a 850, or a demon if your pockets are deep lol alot of people hate the demons but i love mine!!!

Re: Which carb to go with??

I wouldnt mind keeping the Qjet but withthe truck being a daily driver I cant take it off and send it out to be rebuilt until I knoew the weather was going to be nice for a good stretch then I would just ride my chopper in the meantime. Not to mention I do not know of any reputable places or shiops to have it done at.
