Custom convertible tops.

Im the new owner of a 72 c20 pickup. I love the truck but I seem to be having a problem. Its been converted to a convertible and although i like it, it seems impossible to find a top fpr it. Ive looked all over the web but i cant seem to find anywhere to even have one made. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know because i live in south florida and the weather here is very unpredictable. Thanks.

Pics?
Is there a top mechanism that needs new covering???
or do you need an entire mechanism fabricated?

Re: Custom convertible tops.

If there's a top already you can go to a interior shop and have them make one up for you if there's not a frame there you'll hav to make one

Re: Custom convertible tops.

If all else fails make one yourself. I have a friend that made the aluminum top for his street rod roadster. He did it all with angle iron and conduit for the frame. Then he worked aluminum over it and the top looks really well done. His plan is to cover it with a material that looks like a convertable cloth. This guy did this with mostly hand tools and a conduit bender.

Re: Custom convertible tops.

I remember back in the early nineties that was real popular for the mini truck scene. Might do a search along thoses lines and find what you are looking for.

Re: Custom convertible tops.

You can get a convertible top custom made and installed right at Carlisle Car Shows. They can do a Corvette in 4 hours.
