Taking my frame to get blasted and epoxy primer coated tomorrow. Gloss black or satin for the finish coat? I have had several people recomend an oil based enamal like a tractor paint. Any suggestions? Thanks

just do a nice chassi black i did mine with a black dupont brand paint looks good a little shiny but not glossy like a mirror

Tractor paint works great. Definitely satin. Gloss looks tacky. I actually used Low Gloss Black engine enamel. It looks like chassis black.

...like, John Deere Blitz Black? I've got a chassis to paint, and I'm thinking of this, among other possibilities.

i did mine in gloss. temps drop to freezing that night.....dulled the finish! i must say, it looks good satin.

I dropped it off today, complete sandblast frame and core support, epoxy primer and sprayed with satin black enamal for $375.00. Now I just have to wait a week or so, they are busy!

I'd say it's worth a wait at that price.

That's a good price, I had the frame blasted, along with trailing arms and Aarms for $280, cleaned rearend myself, and spent 60 on omni epoxy primer and 52 on a gallon of Nasson chassis black....

I would recommend the nasson chassis black stuff worked out real nice, short dry time, ready to spray, just the right amount of gloss

Just picked up a gallon of Valspar low gloss black enamel, at Tractor Supply. Gotta get the hardener (my store was out). Gallon is $37. Hardener is $15. So, it's $52, total.

Gonna pick up my chassis tomorrow AM. Well, it's the rails, and the engine cross member and trailing arms. Forgot to drop off the transmission crossmember. So, we'll be doing the degreasing and cleanup at the house, before we paint it. We can also sandblast it if it fits in the cabinet. If not, we have some more prep to do, but we'll get it done!
