Suburban Front Clip, 250-350$. Fair Price?

Hey guys,

I met someone at a bar the other night and he saw a picture of my truck on my phone, he has 2 front clips from suburbans. He wants 250$ for one and 350$ for the other, Are those good prices? One has Repo fenders and the other has OEM fenders. I would like to possible pick one of them up if you guys think thats a fair price.

Let me know ASAP!

Thanks alot

Matt

That's what they run for on craigslist here. There's a few on now if they haven't sold

You don't need the fenders, just the core support.

Re: Suburban Front Clip, 250-350$. Fair Price?

Thats what I sell them for not what I buy them for LOL. Some times its hard to get people to split up the core support/grille fromt he fenders. But since you dont need the fenders, I wouldn't spend that much. I really think you should keep the grille you have, I really like it. If you do decide to go for the 89-91, the filler strip between the grille and bumper is different also. Just a heads up in case you find someone willing to sell you one w/o fenders/hood.

Re: Suburban Front Clip, 250-350$. Fair Price?

Guy around me parts out those suburbans for a living basically. He gets $150 if it has a decent grille, $125 if the grille is junk. You get the support, lamps, filler and wiring harness along with grille and headlamp bezels. He sells the sheet metal separate if possible. If you bought the entire doghouse from him though, you'd probably be in the $250 range.

Granted he has told me he never pays more than $250 for the suburbans, unless they have some nice rebuilt engine/trans with documentation, then he'll go up to $500. He always has doors and front ends, good source for bucket seats and stuff as well. I try to go get all the electronic speedometers from him if he remembers to call me about them. I figure it is a good investment since he only charges me $25 if I pull the cluster.

Only way I'd pay 500 is if it were perfect and same color so I wouldn't have to paint it. Lol

$250 for the set up in MI, although the fenders were a little surface rusted. Included hood.

spend the money on both of them. maybe he will cut you a better deal if you buy both. remember the monroe swap meet is coming up and you could unload all of it and put some extra cash in your pocket

I couldn't hardly give a 91 burb clip away here in central Ok. We ended up selling the whole thing minus the hood for a bit over $100.... But i see them on craigslist from time to time for $250-$350

I had to almost give mine away also. I don't remember what I got for the loaded conversion, but it was less than $150. It took a while to get that.

I have done this a few times if theres something besides the front clip I want. I bought a 90 'burb with no motor tranny for $300, sold the front clip for $300, got the full interior, all the doors, fuel tank, front crossmember, rear axle and a whole set of alloys and new tires. Scrapped the rest for $150 or so. Its like people paying you for the parts you need.

Re: Suburban Front Clip, 250-350$. Fair Price?

Came across a CL ad in Houston for a burb part out... guy's got a complete '89 front clip and a 4spd column I want. If I were to get the clip for my '84 CCSB, all I need is the core support, harness, grille, & bezels if my fenders/hood are in good shape? He's willing to separate the clip to accommodate my needs. $375 was his asking price, so I figured I could waive 3 hunskies in his face to complete the transaction.

IMO, the 88-91 front clip swap is dated and overdone. I say keep the OE front end, it never gets old.
