Re: cab band

Why not attach it with 3m double sided tape?

This is what I did, as my truck was a Custom Deluxe, no trim either.
I measured where the trim rivits were on the donor truck. I just measured from the bottom of the window down... then measured the spacing from left to right.... same thing with the cab corner molding. Measure twice drill once.. I drilled the clips to the cab with sheetmetal screws were the studs would have gone if my truck had molding originally. Secured em down, and slid the trim on and did the same for the corner trim, and there you have it (the original clips will work)...

Moderate job... took me about a full day to get everything right because I added the tailgate band too...(that was challenging to get the holes right)... just take your time.

Re: cab band

My dad does auto accessories for dealerships for a living, and I can give you a few small tips if you use 3m tape.

make sure you clean the surface area with a cleaner that will strip any polish or wax.

on the cab, lay a stripe with masking tape right above where you are going to adhere the molding. that way you can step back and look at it and make sure its straight. and then use it as a guide when laying the molding.

do it in the sun with a warm surface.

and last, if you research a little, there are chemicals you can apply to your paint that will multiply the adhesive by up to 200% my dad uses it all the time!

hope any of this helps!
