welders
Anyone ever welded a '67-72 truck frame with a lincoln sp-135 plus?

I can't directly answer your question, but I'll throw my .02 in.
That is the same welder I have in the shop. I use it mostly for sheet metal. I have however used it to weld up 1/4" material on a plow frame and mounts for my plow truck which has been subjected to some abuse, and the welds are holding up fine. With that being said though, I would still feel it would be a bit too light for frame repairs; but I'm not a trained welder either.

You'll be fine. I have welded on my frame with a Miller 115 with no problems. I run it on the highest setting, and just slow the wire a bit, good penetration, with no issues. It also helps to v-notch if you're doing a butt weld. .02

i have the same welder and i've been told that it will work better with flux core wire for the heavier stuff due to better penetration. !
