Hey Guys I've gotta Rodeo Rig Project, I'm working on getting started here, 76-88 Chevy Crew Cab Dually, 4x4 with a 12 valve Cummin's and I'm Lookin for a the Truck....2wd 4wd don't matter, i have the necessary components to make it 4x4, I will be using this as a Daily Driver and Advertising Vehicle, and I will be USING THIS VEHICLE!!!! I have a Guy that will build me a Replacement bumper with a hole for a WERN 16.5 winch,and am Curious on everyones thoughts, Traditional Bed or Flat Bed, I have a Flat bed company Decided on if I go that Route (Hillsboro Aluminum)..... If I go with the Traditional Bed I'll be putting a Sleeper Cab Extension on it Discuss!!!! I value input lots of INPUT!

What will you be hauling? Both would look good just a practicality issue on which suits your needs better Love to see pics of truck with sleeper cab and aluminum flatbed

Well I don't have anything to haul Just yet, but am planning on buying some Bulls to Buck I live in Rural Northeast Nebraska, and am a Professional Bullfighter, so I'm not sure, I know I can cut my Bids for fights but $20-$50 a event if I have a sleeper cab but would really like to make this a one time build so I'm putting ALOT of thought into it... Prolly TOO much... I'm Looking at Body off, Rhino Lined Frame... The Works

Flat bed looks great, but if your are looking at the economic side, maybe you should follow up on the sleeper. Just my thoughts with fuel prices the way they are.

Even though the flat bed looks awesome, If a standard bed with sleeper suits you better that's the way to go, But....Only YOU can make that call.

Longbed dually regular cab with the sleeper cab/cap in the bed would probably be the most economical. Non-turbo Diesel or a small block 350 for the engine , drive like a grandma, nv4500 as your trans, highest gearing you can live with (3.x if possible) will be your best build in my opinion.

Normaly I dont care for flat bed's on these truck's, But I think the aluminum flat bed would be cool(with a 6" stack), the sleeper may be usefull but dont look very good.
I vote for aluminum flat bed, 22.5's with a stanard tire and a 6" stack !

it all depends on what you are gonna do with your truck. square body duallys look great with the fenders, but a work truck with a pick up bed is worthless.

yeah that's my thoughts exactly on the fenders on these trucks...... I got time to think about things, what I'd REALLY love is (and I've only seen 5 pictures) Crew Cab Extended Cab and a flat bed, the best of both worlds

My wife mentioned the other day that insuring a truck with a flat bed can cost quite a bit more than insuring a truck with the standard bed. I assume this varies state to state.

I haven't looked much into this, but it may be worth a little research if you're considering the flat bed...

Thanks for the heads up!!! I'll definately look into that before I spend any money on a flatbed
