Ok...so this is what I'm workin' with
A '69 C-10 LWB with leaf springs, amd overload or helper springs to back that up.
I've got 15 X 8 inch rallies that suit me jes' fine, but would like to fill the wheel well up with more tire. I'm past the slammin' stage these days, and wanna keep my truck...well...a truck. So that leaves me really with just one option, slappin' bigger meat on these rallies. Anyone got an idea of how much I might be able to fill those wells in with some beefier tires? Heck, anyone got any suggestions for tires that might do the trick? Am I limited by the 8 inch width of the rims? I'm a long haul trucker, and only drive my personal vehicles every couple of months or so when I come in, and even then it's mostly my bike I'm on, so I'm not real concerned about road noise or tire wear in the pickup. I doubt I do 5k miles a year in the thing. Any suggestions? |

Nice truck neighbor....I don't know what size tires you have on there....but imho I would suggest some 60series. You can go 255-60 up front and 275-60 on the rear....or 275-60 all around if you don't like the staggered look.

Ahhh...Ft. Worth..now there's a town to get in trouble in.
I am currently running Cooper series 60's on the thing, and was hoping to go with maybe something maybe a bit more off road so I can jump curbs better when I'm caught in traffic. I just wanted to be able to keep my 15x8 rims in doing so. I guess I can run her down to the tire shop next time I get a chance and ask 'em what my options are. Thanx for the input.... |

The 15" rim will limit your options for height. A set of 31-10.50-15 would probably fit. They also make a 32-11/50-15, but I don't know if they would fit on an 8" rim, and you would need to watch the clearance when turning.
I saw a set (of 31") on a truck I looked at a couple of months ago - gave it a good stance.

Re: Ok...so this is what I'm workin' with
the 33x12.5 might be too big and rub the fenders or frame when turned to full lock. the truck that they are on is a 4x4. someone on here probably knows what will do the trick, but might take some time for them to see this and reply. i'd go to the tire shop and ask around.
just my 2 cents.

I had a set of 31x10.50s on my 67 and they filled the wheel wells nicely.

I doubt you could turn without rubbing, and if you hit a bump, it would probably hit the inner fenders. I have a friend with LT265/75/R16 (31.5" tall) on his C20, and they are about the tallest I think you could go (fill up the fenders) safely. I have LT245/75/R16 (30.5") on mine, and they look like they belong there.

I have this size ,LT265/75/R16 (31.5" tall) on my C20 and they do fill the wheel wells nicely. I had the original 10 ply size on , they're a little taller and look like this.
