It is a 67 gmc lwb with a stock 305. What a funky looking set up.
The cab is already sold, but the rest is there. Some good parts. If I decide to sell any, I will post here. Those are some really strange looking valve covers. I know the 305 is low on the list as far as desireable, but anyone have anything they can tell me about it. I notice the pwr steering is mounted up top. Appreciate any info. thanks in advance

I have access to 2 fairly complete 305s right now. The valve covers look so cool I have one painted up and hanging over the TV in my basement rec room.

It would definitely be interesting to see someone put one of those larger V6's in one of our trucks.

As far as the valve covers are concerned, I heard that they were plaid...dunno if it was paint or a slip on cover...is that what you guys are talking about?

That was a rare option....the thing we are refering to is the scalloped shape...kinda like the old 409.

This site used to have a pic of a plaid engine...but he dropped it when he chainged servers.

those are them longhorn. Thanks for the info. The stromberg carburator looks interesting to. The engine looks really clean. Also has some emblems that are new to me to. about 6 inches long on the fenders, rectangular in shape. Custom. Looking forward to picking the truck up so I can have a closer look. Also has pwr steering to.

I fyou are parting it out, mention the power steering on the parts board...some oen is looking for all the parts.
Neither of the ones i have access to have that option. They both have the armstrong steering set up.

Sounds like you bought my truck's long lost cousin! Mine the 305 V6 also and the "Custom" badges. In my opinion, those engines are only good for are boat anchors and stump pullers! They may be kind rare, but they're still dogs.

sheesh man, way to drop a bomb on his party. No pun intended. He was all excited about getting such a rare engine, but oh well, he'll come back to reality.

I'd kinda love to see one of those pistons and hear one of thouse V6's run. Gotta be a pretty kewl sound.

Say, anybody ever seen one of those Twin-Six's?

I have always known the 305 to be a dog. I run a 383 stroker with 420 horses, and that for me is a little bit of reality. The reason for my excitement blackhawk, was simply that I learned more about these trucks. That is worth it to me. Now, what I am excited about is the shortbed I just bought for 300.00. Pick it up tommorrow. take care all.

I didn't know about the 305 six, I thought you were talking about the 305 v8, I bought one that came out of my neighbors 84 chev pickup for 100 bucks it had 100,000 cared for miles on it couldn't resist, are these motors any good, I thought of putting it in a nova or some other small car, anyone build one of theses up?
