Which bed mount kit to use?

I've got a 54 3100 that I'm getting a new frame for from the guy I got the truck from. The frame is from a 49 I believe and it's been sandblasted, Rustoleumed, etc and is in perfect condition...also comes with a running full pressure 235 installed, all for free

Anywho I'm looking at Brother's parts and they have a 47-53 kit for $23, and a 54-87 kit for $8, which do I need? And while I'm at it, would it be wise to pick anything else up? I'm going to be moving the bed over first since it'll be the lightest and easiest to move I would imagine.

Do you have any links to the kit(s)? or the item #

I have seen in other parts suppliers where you need both, one for the strips , other for the hardware. but with the years covered in your post I'll assume you would need the 47 -53 kit for an AD

So far, I can tell you that you'll need the early kit. I'm doing he same swap and you will need the blocks to accommodate the frame kick up, but I think there is still a height difference. I chose to raise the bed floor 2 inches also. Sorry I'm not done yet, just some info. Did put the bed on last because the height is based off the rest of the sheetmetal.

The 54 bed is 2" deeper and mounts differently than the previous model. You may have to do some modification to make things fit. Do some searches because this bed swap question comes up a lot but I've never seen it answered properly!

Yup, I wouldnt buy an off the shelf kit. The frame kickup over the axle is different too. Best bet would be to set the cab first and then mock the bed up to see what looks right. Otherwise you may end up tail high or trail low...imo
