Smile bbc factory exhaust manifolds?

Hi Guys, First, thanks for all the help in the past!I have a 1969 396 in my 67 short box. I bought some headers that were suppose to work and were way off on passingers side.Anyway I am going back with stock manifolds. There was a crack in one of them I welded up. Is there any newer trucks or car stock manifolds that will work? My manifolds are the older type without the smog fittings. Thanks Guys!

Re: bbc factory exhaust manifolds?

I have some 85 model stock exhaust manifolds and they have the factory smog fittings. Interested in a trade?

Re: bbc factory exhaust manifolds?

Thanks anyway choptop, I do not want any smog holes. If I have problems with the stock exhaust I will go with to sandersen headers.I didnt know if there was any hiperformance manifolds like camaro, vette that a guy might pickup that would fit.Buy the way the headers that wouldnt fit are Patriot p.n.8029 jet coated. I will sell them cheap. Thanks!

Re: bbc factory exhaust manifolds?

I have not bought my headers for my big block swap. The Patriot headers seem nice but I have a big block going into a 68. Wouldn't I have the same fitment problems you have? What was the issue? I gotta know what I am getting into before I let go of the cash.

Re: bbc factory exhaust manifolds?

Chop Top , The drivers side will work but the passanger side, when put in place at the head, the collector is two inches from the engine cradle. There is no room for collector and piping. These headers are hugger headers. Like I said earlier, I contacted the vendor that sold them and he said no problem they would fit. I am going to do some resreach to see if newer ls1 factory cast headers might work.

Re: bbc factory exhaust manifolds?

I have a set of Headman headers that work well in my '69 C10 with a 396BB.

Wink Re: bbc factory exhaust manifolds?

Thanks Guys for the help. The newer engines is something I do not know much about. I guess I better read my articles in Super Chevy a little closer so I can get educated on the newer engines.
