WTB 69 1 ton rear spring perches

I was using the wrecker this morning, and i climbed under it and noticed the rear spring perches have rust holes in them, so i need to replace them.

Also found a crossmember thats bad, but thats another day.

Cheap would be great, free would be better. lol. I'd like the non swiss cheese versions also.

Thanks
Glen

Re: WTB 69 1 ton rear spring perches

You can make spring perches easy enough. Hole saw a half moon through a piece of rectangular tubing or some channel. I'm keeping the set that's on the HO72 out back. I will be scrapping the frame though. Some of it's rusty some of it not so bad. Which cross member do you need. If I have a good one I'd save it for ya. Shipping would be the killer but I don't need anything for it either.

Thanks stingray, i was some factory perches,
I'm not sure which crossmember it is yet, I'll get pics of it, I can just see the holes through the body. But haven't layed in the mud yet. I'll let you know.
Thanks
Glen

Re: WTB 69 1 ton rear spring perches

My one ton only has about 60K original and the factory spring perches were not all that hot. Not rotten through by any means but the mating surfaces were pretty eroded. If you do find some see if they can sacrifice the housing and leave you a good amount of material to work with. I'd consider having them milled at the mating surface too to so that everything sits nice and true. If I had to replace mine I'd just build my own. Does yours have the spacers between the housing and the sping? Factory spacers have a bit of wedge built into them for pinion angle and can be prone to cracking. If you have these take them and sand blast them good. I welded mine up to repair them. I also spent a pile of time with a file and grinder truing the perches and spacers to eachother because of corrosion.

Re: WTB 69 1 ton rear spring perches

I didn't look that close, i just saw the holes in them. I'm going to try to get some pics later. And i'll check for the spacers.

Re: WTB 69 1 ton rear spring perches

I might have a pair. Do these push the spring mounting width outward? I think what I have is 73+ and probably 3/4ton. Got a picture? I've gotta go to the barn to find them...may take a while.

I'm in Bath.

I don't know if they are the same or not. I think the 1 tons are more heavy duty. I'll take some measurements when i can.

Thanks Gary,
Glen

I have a new set of spring perches for a Dana 60 that I do not need as I'm sticking with my Eaton. Do you need Eaton or Dana perches?
