Dropmember / power rack / steering joints

Does anyone have install pics for a unisteer power rack install with unisteer steering joints on a 60-66 with factory steering colum? Ive been searching but all I can find is manual racks with a 2 piece shaft and I have a power rack with a 1 piece shaft with 2 joints. Thanks !!!!!

Re: Dropmember / power rack / steering joints

I think there are a few in Delmo's Blackbird thread.

Re: Dropmember / power rack / steering joints

This one has a manual rack, like you mentioned, but the concept is the same, and the pinion shaft lengths are nearly identical. This one also shows the mod to the column end to accept the DD joint.

Re: Dropmember / power rack / steering joints

Looks great!
Did you have to pull the steering column up side the cab a little to connect it all?
Or is there enough movement in the joints to make the connections on each end?

Re: Dropmember / power rack / steering joints

I just let it sit how it was, centered the steering wheel, then started mockup from the lower joint that is attached to the rack, took some measurements on the shaft, then made a double d on the factory/cut shaft. Put on joint then got them to the angle that I wanted then trimmed the supplied shaft. Worked out good! Hope I answered your Q!!! That is my step by step pretty much.

Re: Dropmember / power rack / steering joints

Thanks for the reply.
You answered my questions.
I assume your headers/manifolds will clear also?

Re: Dropmember / power rack / steering joints

I mocked up a set of full lengths that I had on prior to the dropmember. Had to mock up fully inflated cause the header would be lower than the truck... lol... I'm gonna have to ask someone else that has the same setup as me about headers. Probably gonna be block huggers or mid length chevelle headers.
