Explorer rear

Does the F**d Explorer rear drop right on to 47-54 springs, or do the perches have to be cutoff and rewelded ?

Re: Explorer rear

Perches were too narrow on mine. Memory says they were 39.5 center to center.

according to my junkyard measurment, they would have to be cut off, and new mounts welded.
however, the mounts were only $15 for the pair at my local 4x4 shop.

Re: Explorer rear

I think that's sufficiently answered, but I'll jump in with a "cut and rewelded" reply, also- That's what I had to do for my '47 with a '95 Exploder rear.
