Before and (ten years) After

Let me introduce the finished product of ten years of sporadic effort and expense.
99.9% complete, everything new or rebuilt with the exception of the rear differential and axles.
She makes some disconcerting noises during her shakedown drives and the shift points aren't right, but am I happy? You know it !!. The Ramjet is a great motor. I can't remember anticipating spring like this since I don't know when.
The only thing left to do is get the gauges functioning right, esp. the confounded tach.
Thanks for validating my truck love and helping me out all these years guys.

Re: Before and (ten years) After

Thanks for all the kind comments.
Here are some more pics. The ramjet is first rate, couldn't be happier with the quick starts, even idle, acceleration etc. The power is good but it's still in "green" mode so it won't really open up yet. I'm looking forward to getting some nice valve covers, pulleys etc to dress it up with.
Regarding the strange noises. The engine is fine...but there is a racket coming from the trans at times. When the engine heats up the torque converter/flexplate can start to squeal in a strange way (cracked?) Under heavy acceleration there is a clatter which sounds a lot like detonation, but I don't think it is. It also appears my starter isn't fully disengaging. The trans is a new B&M 350 and the starter is a new GM hi torque mini starter.
All in all not the dramas I was expecting for a shakedown cruise.

Re: Before and (ten years) After

Your truck really turned out nice! I would say the 10 wait and hard work payed off, very nice. That is the color combo my 72 came with.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
