DOes the idler arm turn where it makes contact with the rubber washer???

Or does it turn internally. I installed my idler arm and marred the surface of the metal on the frame piece that the idler arm attaches too. I smoothed it out as much as possible but I don't want it to chew the rubber washer up.

Do you have a picture of the area you are talking about?
