Another one bites the dust - My 86 GMC

On Feb 28 I was minding my own business coming home from work. I stopped for a car two ahead of me to turn left into a gas station. As soon as I got stopped, I saw an orange flash in my rear view mirror and was slammed into by a Hummer H3. In turn, I slammed into the Ford Freestyle in front of me. The impact was hard enough to bend my seat and for my back to make a dent in the back of the cab right above the seat.

I got the check today for my totaled truck. Their insurance company (Farmers) treated me fairly with a minimum of hassle and I'm very thankful for that. I also get to keep the truck for parts, so at least parts of it will live on...

Damn Joe, that sucks!!! Glad you are OK, looks like the truck did it's job pretty well too. So you are 1 square down, you still need an entire hand to count the rest.

Diesel? I hope you asked for a lot!! Now get money for loss of time!! Ok, kidding. Glad you are going well. A simple wreck like that can turn into major medical problems. Good luck find another truck!

Sounds like I have plenty when you say it like that, but I've been driving this truck to work every day for the last 7 years. It's 22 miles each way and I rarely come straight home. At 23 mpg it's been a hell of a good truck and doesn't owe me a cent. One transmission, injectors and a rebuild on the injector pump are all the maintenance I had to do besides oil, tires and brakes. I'm looking for a another one...

Sounds like it was one helluva truck, good luck finding the replacement. Post up when you do.

I still wish I would have known you were getting rid of the 80 Indy Hauler years ago. For some reason, that truck has been stuck in my head.

My uncle still has it. I'm sure it could be yours...

I wish I would have gotten your Blazer. That one's always been stuck in my head.

Re: Another one bites the dust - My 86 GMC

Gotta tell ya, that'd be good parts for a driver for me! I was going to say just drive it but I can see that the cab back panel is pushed all the way into the doors. that's probably not worth fixing.
It's time to build that 73 diesel that everyone like me wants...

Interesting on the Hauler...I'll have to send you a PM.

Yes, I regret the Blazer too, that one the one I shouldn't have let get away.

Glad you are OK Joe. You can always buy another truck, that's the good part.

I think there may be a few of us that wish they hadn't let Jeff's Blazer get away. You can count me in that group, too.
