Finally lowered the rear!

I've had my truck done, on and off, for about a year. I've been pretty happy with it, but it has always sat up a bit too high in the rear.
I have spent a good part of the last 3 weeks doing the rear suspension. I boxed the rear part of the frame, and did a weld in c-notch, installed Porterbuilt rear trailing arms, which I did a few mods to, Porterbuilt crossmember, built the panhard bar and brackets, reworked the exhaust, and installed QA1 coil-over shocks, and got a bunch of stuff powdercoated! It was a good bit of work, but I am happy with the results, and it drives and handles way better than before. Here's a few pics, the first being the way it was before:

It rides alot nicer, with much less side to side movement, and the shocks are adjustable.

I have a 406 mechanical roller with 4/7 swap, aluminum heads, victor jr w/ Pro Systems 830. It's got all the other good stuff, but it runs well, and is real driveable on the street with pump gas.
I'm not sure of the drop, but I would say about 7" in the rear, and stock front with 2 1/2" drop spindles.

Thanks to all for the replies!

Re: Finally lowered the rear!

Looks good! Any pics of the work you did to the rear? I'm in the middle of some rear end work now and would appreciate seeing your work for ideas.

Re: Finally lowered the rear!

Much better! I'm also interested in seeing the suspension pics. I've been thinking of trying to do a coil over swap in mine sometime.

It idles alot nicer, and has a real smooth crispy idle. I had the same cam in a standard grind, and it was alot choppier.

Thanks Al, the height and ride adjustability are really nice features of doing it this way. I can raise or lower it in about 15 mins.

I got the brackets locally from A.R.T. They build only drag race stuff, and are local. On the P.B. arms, I added the small tube coming off the front of where the trailing arms mount, to kind of triangulate it at the bend, and where the rear mounts , I built a little bucket for the perches to sit in. I didn't like the idea of a 3/4 inch U bolt in a 7/8ths hole. It just keeps the rear squared in place a little better.

Is your panhard bar custom made or did you order it from somewhere?

It's custom made, chromoly 1.25 tube with the weld in ends for the heim joints. I also made the brackets.
