Bed slats that hold up the wood.

One of the problems I have in waiting so long to rebuild my truck,
is forget where what goes where.
I did bag and mark all the bolts and screws, and put tape on the wiring looms otherwise my feeble brain would shut down. I know none of you have ever had this problem.............
Anyway to the bed question : It is a long Fleetside wood bed and there are several channel cross slats ( see don't even know what to call those ) that all look the same, but one.
It is about half as tall as the others.
Where dose it go ????????

Re: Bed slats that hold up the wood.

GMC Paul's and LMC web-sites have pretty good views of where the cross pieces go. I can not remember for sure myself, but some day will have to when I put the short step bed on the '67.

Re: Bed slats that hold up the wood.

Went to his site earlier, very good info on wood dimensions
and bolt locations, but couldn't find a section for the slat locations ?
Will try LMC.
Thanks.

I'm sure that one goes in the middle (above the rear end housing).

Bingo, both you guys.
That's were I bought my wood.
The thin one is also where the muffler heat shields will go.
