Door post ID data plate

Does anybody remake the door post ID data plate for 64-66 Chevrolet 1/2 ton trucks? I have found up to 1959 which looks close but not perfect.
I have also contacted a shop that refinshes the used plate, but he doesn't redo a 64-66. Thank you for any help...

Re: Door post ID data plate

You need to really be careful about this, one cannot mfg a vin plate, buy a 66 cab that has a title, then use that to tag your vehicle.............replacing the tag I would go to the DMV in your state and see what can legally done before proceeding....Kieth

Re: Door post ID data plate

I think he is asking about the GVRW tag on the DS inside kick panel of the truck, is that correct Touchdown?

Re: Door post ID data plate

Kieth... Thanks for replying, but I am only looking to repair/replace the information plate not the VIN tag. On my 65 C10 the VIN plate is in the door jamb (top) and the ID plate is attached on the inside left cowl. I would not think this is wrong to fix? Maybe I'm wrong? Thanks

Re: Door post ID data plate

Do you know the "correct" name of the plate? I would like to see one and maybe they could be recreated as a sticker type, I think originally they were kind of silk screened sort of on a metal plate.

Re: Door post ID data plate

Touchdown, I would think almost any screen print shop/sign shop could and would duplicate that, especially with one that is in that good shape to go by.

i found this...

Thanks Clyde65... I tried that shop first, he says he doesn't do my year. But maybe I will try a screen printer.

I have seen them from time to time on evilbay for the 4-5-6. I would keep an eye out there...(new re-pops)
