finally got some time in the garage...

With three kids, work and everything else...garage time is hard to find. I did however get some stuff done recently, thought I would share with you guys.

Started putting in the carpet, took my time and was able to get everything at the back of the cab cleaned up and looking good together. Very pleased withhow this turned out.

Thanks to Chris (CaptKaos), he helped me with my carpet order in a pinch. If you guys need carpet, or anything for that matter, hit him up!

Re: finally got some time in the garage...

Headliner was put in recently, the headliner and back cab panel are upholstered in the same material. I also modified the Autometer gauge panel and painted it to match the rest of the truck. It houses the trans temp and clock. You can see the glassed dash pad, with was painted to match the speaker brackets. I also restored the passenger side dash trim. It was originally woodgrain, I stripped it and painted it black to match the dash bezel. The emblem is NOS. Picture sucks, and the trim is dusty from the carpet install.

Re: finally got some time in the garage...

Finally, bucket seats and console are IN! Seats are heated too, something that will be nice on those cool early spring and late fall days.

Next up will be to install the shifter and shifter base, hopefully tomorrow night.

Re: finally got some time in the garage...

Jeff I know exactly what you mean about time in the garage. I am in the same boat with a 13yr old son that plays AAU basketball and 2 6yr old girls that are playing their 1st year of soccer.. Bro you got her looking damn good, what size clock and trans temp are you running. Everything looks good dude, I can't wait to see her done!!!

Thanks Trevino. With your three and sports, you make me look like a slacker...lol. Our daughter is 3, boys just turned 1. Gauges are 2 5/8", they match the ones behind my dash bezel.

It is coming along well, Jeff. The tan looks great with the yellow. I may have to do ao rehash on my freebie interior project when I get the '74 back.

Looking good Jeff! The carpet , headliner and trim turned out really nice. Do you have any more pics of the dash or a link to how you glassed it?

No link. I simply scuffed and cleaned it real good, put on about 6 coats of fiberglass resin, sanded, some bondo, bodywork and paint. So far it is holding up well, only time will tell.

Man it's looking good! Showedsome pics to my g/f and she WANTS a yellow roundeye now!! On the dash did you simply put it over the vinyl? And if so what did you scuff it with and how long between coats did you wait? Sounds alot easier then taking the foam and all of and starting with metal and building up...
