My 1958 Apache build

I picked up a 58 apache short bed step side with a 74 C20 frame underneath it. Ordered a CA Chassis Works back half kit with autoweld 4 link kit, QA1's, Centerline 15X15 rims, mickey thompson 29X18's and have all of the patch panels in. I will post pics up later of the progress. I am going to go to the junk yard this weekend and try to locate a camaro front clip.
Stuff to still order and do
Front rims and tires
front and rear fenders
roll cage
lexan windows
chop the top
bed sides
roll pan
front bumper/brackets
and all the stuff for a 496 stroker build. This stuff is gonig to add up fast
it has a 12 bolt in it now so I have to chop the housing and new axles.
First project to this level. The best part about this project is all of the tools that I have got. Drill press, pipe bender, welder, plasma cutter, blast cabinet, air compressor, sheet metal brake, powder coat set up, soda blaster, and am getting the stuff to build my powder coat oven this weekend. 39"X39"X66". I will keep updating this post with progress.

Re: My 1958 Apache build

Still gotta get the 2 front fenders, 2 rear fenders (3" wider), running boards (3" wider), upper outer cowl panels. That should be all for the body panels, then I am going to make my own fire wall, and floor. I should get my bead roller in on monday.

Re: My 1958 Apache build

Lots of work ahead, make sure you brace your cab real good or door fitment will be a pain.

Re: My 1958 Apache build

Got the bed floor stripped and ready to be pulled. For some reason the guy that I got it from welded the bed floor mounts to the frame. So I got a chance to use my plasma cutter. GOOD TIMES. Here are some pics of me and my buddy Biff getting the bed ready to pull off.

Re: My 1958 Apache build

Here are some pics of us cutting the cross sills. The bed and the cab are ready to pull of now. I will get that pulled sometime this week. Instead of going with the camaro front clip I am going to go with the S10 frame swap. I can get the frame for 100-200$.
