Anybody running this particular wheel on their truck? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ARE-A695873/
I just want to know if they have the correct backspacing, offset, etc. so they won't look funny or have any clearance issues. I just don't wanna spend $500 on a set of wheels and realize they won't fit. I can make an engine run like a top, but when it comes to wheels, I just don't have the experience. That's why I came to the experts.

Re: slots
If I were you,I would try to find some used slots in good condition. They are out there you just have to do some searchin.I spent 3or 4 years trying to get the ones I have now off a guy who had them on a 76 big10.Every time i saw him at the gas station I asked about the slots.Offered money ($200) and a set of nice outlaw 2 ally wheels, plus do all the jack/lug wrench work, and have his tires balanced on the other wheels.Still got a ""NO"" every time. Then one day while at a mutual friends house they guy was there. When I walked in the door he said ''Hey Flint, I sold my truck today''.I immediately ask if he kept the wheels for me
He told me ""NO"", which was all too familiar. Then i got a little bit heated and had a few words with him.In the end I made him give me the phone number of the gentleman he sold the truck to.I called and told the man the story I just told yall and said I wanted some wheels the where period correct for my truck. After 20min on the phone I made him the same offer as above and he went for it!!He was happy cause he was able to put some new tires on the wheels I traded to him with the cash, and I was very happy to have the slots that I had been after for quite a while.I now have some very good looking wheels that look great on my truck imo. They cleaned up nice,no curb rash, deep dish, and it gave my truck a wider track width.I think they where worth every bit of the trouble.I know it was the long way around the barn to get over the fence, but I hope yall liked the story.Do a little searching and dont be discouraged by a ''NO'' every day for 4 yrs!!! Re: slots
I plan on getting some of those wheels for my tuck very shortly. From what I have researched they should fit fine. In the meantime I'm sure on of the resident experts will chime in.

Re: slots
Old School ET Wheel 5-window drag slots. 15X7 in front, and 15X10 out back. I had to do a little grinding on the backs of the disc brake calipers on front to get them to clear.
I got these from my dad... he ran them on his '70 C10 with adapters for years. Then finally got 6 lug slotted wheels. These sat in his shop for a long time until I grabbed them from him after I bought my '72 GMC 6 years ago. Gary

Re: slots
Those look awesome! The moment I first saw them, I knew that they were what I wanted to put on my truck some day. It's just that old school hot rod look that can't be beat. I just never wanted to cough up the cash to buy them, but my recent blowout kinda changed that...

Re: slots
Sweet trucks guys! For you guys with faded slots spray some EAGLE 1 ETCHING MAG CLEANER on them, it'll take alot of crud off, you can go from that to aluminum polish right away (I did). Alot of elbow grease but looks good I have pix/steps at my home computer i'll try'n post.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=372115 ^Thats a good thread for slot wheels also..

Re: slots
Ansen Wheel produces a 17" slot that would look sick on a traditional rig. not priced too bad either.

Re: slots
So, are these wheels Aluminum or Magnesium? I was under the impression they were Magnesium and that's why they are called "Mags". Or do they just call them all Mags now no matter what? Is it depending on the brand what the material is? I have a set on my 77 Formula, on the back it says U.S. Indy Mag.

Re: slots
Back in the day they were actually made out of magnesium but most anything you find now, even vintage, will be made out of aluminum or an aluminum alloy.
I'd be willing to bet gold bars to donuts that the wheels on the TA are aluminum. |

They probably are. They act like aluminum does when I clean them. You like Jelly, or Sprinkles on them donuts?
