Re: Xtra Cab??

No such demon came from the chevrolet factory. Could be a custom coach cab. Several different companies made them.

Re: Xtra Cab??

Looks like he did it with a suburban rear window set......or just shortened a burb.....? then added a pickup back of cab to it. If you notice it does not have the hump in the roof.......Kieth

Re: Xtra Cab??

Looking at it again, I think you may be right. I think he just shortened up a Suburban. I'd like to see what he did on the back of the cab.

Re: Xtra Cab??

I really like the shape and contour of the added window. Would look better with a pickup roof though. The roof is kind of a major styling cue for our trucks.

Re: Xtra Cab??

I have a 65 chevy cab and a 65 gmc cab (spare) I have looked pretty hard into making a extended cab (my 65 chevy is a long bed and I have a short fleetside bed. I thought about extending the cab as shown just enough to use the stock lwb fleetside frame but the more I looked the suburban body is the easiest conversion. If one were careful he could use the rear windows as shown and then weld the rear part of the pickup cab onto the back of the burb body......but when you look at doing this it really is tough because you have to hack up a good burb body and I hate to do that........Kieth

ps not to mention one has to have some serious skills to pull this kind of a conversion off without totally screwing it up.
