Re: 8",10",12" lifts

When you go that high, off the shelf kits get fewer the taller you go. Any of those is going to have seriously arched springs to net the lift you want. That's going to give a ride that's bone jarring. Stock steering going that high won't work either. You'll have to go with a crossover steering setup.

Still wanting to play is going to depend on what you do for "play". If you mean mudding, yea it will work. Going trail riding is going to suck due to the stiff ride and tippy feeling on any slopes. If you want to go crush cars, that might work though.

Re: 8",10",12" lifts

What you can do to get the lift you want and keep it sane is to use a shackle flip in the rear (4" of lift) and add a 4-6" lift spring to get your 8-10" of lift. In the front you can do some 52" springs and that will get you 4" of lift, so a 4"-6" lift spring up front will net you 8-10" and you won't have a jarring ride. Off road designs and diy4x are two places to google to start looking for info on 52s and shackle flips.

I'm keeping my sub at 4-5" so it's livable on the street and more stable because these bodies keep the center of gravity up there.

superlift makes a 12in lift it should have every thing there to put it on and go. I would also put crossover steering on it as well
