Lowering C20 question

Can someone tell me about how much drop these two trucks have? I'm planning something similar.

Yeah I saw that one too, but that still doesn't answer my question.

The truck in the thread you linked to seems to sit up a fair bit higher then the 2 I posted.

BTW, I'm working with coils in the rear.

I have coils also and would like to know also how to drop the rear.

I'd say a 4"-6" but that's just a guess. The second truck appears to be slightly lower than the first, but as as friend of mine says, it's hard tellin' now knowin' Seriously though, I would say at least a 4"-6" drop. Hope this helps.

coil rear makes it easy... just do it like it was a 1/2 ton. Get coils for the rear, C notch if needed, and an adjustable panhard bar.
Up front, get drop spindles (for a 3/4 ton) and some drop springs. Or you can do it with just springs, but you can run into some problems if you go too far.

GMC Paul's has drop coils for 3/4 tons or you could go with 1/2 ton stuff as mentioned.

LHM, Yeah I know how and am prepared to do whatever is nessasary. Would the 3/4 ton drop spindles require me to go disc? My plans for the rear include a drop spring then a block to get it "just right"

Sinister, Got a link? Plans are to keep its 3/4 ton abilities as it will see a small trailer every once in a while with 1000lbs in the bed.


I have heard that the stock 3/4 ton front coils are longer and stiffer, would cutting 2 coils yield a 4" drop aproxamatly

You would have to swap to disc brakes if you went with a drop spindle. There are not drop spindles made for drum applications. Disc brakes are one of the best upgrades you can do though.

Hmmm, I'd have to run a different wheel if I went disc. I already have a few parts like a Booster/master and prop valve.

The 3/4 ton front drop springs he has only go to a 2" drop, so cutting the fronts is an option.
The 3/4 ton rear springs he has are 2", 3", 4", 5" or 6" drop.

I'm still up in the air on that one. If I do the drop spindle I'll have to convert to discs so I wouldn't be able to use the 15" slots I have on the truck currently. I do have a set of 8 lug 16.5 slots but there aren't many choices for tires for those any more so..... But I do have a set of 16" Outlaw II's I've been thinkin about tossin on to see what they look like but I really love my slots.
