NOS Sheetmetal feeler... Fenders, rockers...
hey all,
I have a line on some NOS sheet metal for my 65 c10. It consist of two brand new in the box NOS Front Fenders from GM and two NOS GM outer rockers. What would be a fair price to expect to pay for these? Ive tried searching around on the forum and eBay but get a very wide range. Thanks for the input |

Re: NOS Sheetmetal feeler... Fenders, rockers...
I haven't seen NOS fenders go for anything less than $400 each in the last 7 or 8 years. I recently just paid $500 each for mine. I saw a set on ebay a couple of months ago sell for more than $1200 and then they have freight to contend with. Brothers wanted $400 each when they supposedly had them 7 or 8 years ago. I paid for them and waited 4 months before I demanded my money back. I also bought NOS rockers from a private party, but got them in a package deal with other parts, so I don't really know what I paid for them. Something less than $50, but like I said, package price break. I know if I needed rockers only I would be willing to pay double or more than aftermarket prices not to deal with the fitting issues. I installed NOS in mine and it was a perfect fit. It's expensive, but if you are considering paying a body shop to fix rusted ones, you got to weigh the cost of their work versus what you can get ones for that fit great and don't have bondo all over them. Don't buy the aftermarket fenders. I have bought several and have regretted it. One was 1/4" too short on the front and the holes don't line up, at all.

Re: NOS Sheetmetal feeler... Fenders, rockers...
^^^I agree 100%. I would rather repair a rusted original than to buy an aftermarket fender. Those things DO NOT fit well at all, they're thinner, the body lines are not as crisp, and the holes don't line up.
Back to the original topic, the parts are worth a MINIMUM of $400 for each fender and $100 each for the rockers. That's a good-guy buddy to buddy price. On the open market like ebay, the sky is the limit. If the seller has no idea on price, Initially offer $250-$300 for each fender, and $150 for both rockers and see if he bites. Never hurts to ask. Are these 45 year old NOS, or more recent GM Restoration Parts sheetmetal? There's a huge difference. Always go original if you can.

Re: NOS Sheetmetal feeler... Fenders, rockers...
To the best of my knowledge these are original gm nos fenders not the newer stuff. The guy that has them was a body man for about twenty years and heordered them direct from gm back in the early eighties. So I can only assume they are older. Is there any way to verify?
