Post your lifted 67-72 swb 4x4s!
Looking for ideas on how much lift and tire size I want for my 67. I'm thinking 6-8" with 35-37" tires. Post your pics and tell what you have! Thanks

Re: Post your lifted 67-72 swb 4x4s!
Looks like both trucks are running the stock 6 lug 4by rallyes. (same thing i got)
I'm running the same thing on mine too. 4" spring lift and a set of 35" BFG's. I'm running A/T's instead of M/T's though. |

Both of the trucks that have the 4" lift and 35's look good. Thinkin this is what I may do.

Re: Post your lifted 67-72 swb 4x4s!
Well, there's no such thing as GM factory highboy lift. Must be a myth. That's what they call the pre-78 Ford F250s and that's how they all came.

i thought the high boy was special order, and they just added big ass blocks. pretty sure there's a lot of non-high boys out there

Re: Post your lifted 67-72 swb 4x4s!
Nope. All 1967-1977.5 4x4 F250's were called "high boys." They had higher-arched front springs, 4" blocks in the back, and a divorced transfer case. GM never made any such thing, all of the 4x4's of the same tonnage sat the same from the factory.

Re: Post your lifted 67-72 swb 4x4s!
Well, thanks guys for all the comments about my lift. I was just going by what somebody told me recently since I got the springs off of a rusted out '68 GMC 4x4 3/4 ton truck that I bought off a guy a few years back, and he has owned it since 1971, and when I asked him about the lift, he told me it wasn't lifted, this was how he got it from the original owner. So, I never was able to figure out what kind of lift it had since nobody seemed to know.

Re: Post your lifted 67-72 swb 4x4s!
That's cool. Just setting things straight,so now you know,as well as anyone else who reads this. It's hard to say what's under your Suburban.Back in the day, even before any such thing as a "lift kit",guys would take a trip to a spring shop to get what they wanted. My first 4wd was a '69 Dodge and there was no lift kit made. I bought a set of 14.50/37 Armstrongs when they first came out. I arched my springs on an anvil and added a leaf.
Here's 13/37 Super Swampers,8" wheels, and 7" of lift. Wheeled it wildly and never rubbed:
