Just seen new Lincoln Truck!

Wow, I have just seen one of the new Lincoln Blackwood trucks drive past me, whats unusual about this you may ask? Well it was in the middle of Bolton, Lancashire in the UK! That is one big shiny flash mother of a truck. Can't see anyone filling the back with oily scrap and taking it to be weighed in! Nice looking, well from the back, I couldn't catch it in my wifes diesel Cherokee!

I saw a review on those in car and driver or something. The price seemed like alot more than I'd ever pay for a truck, or anything for that matter, but it is kinda neat.........for a f*rd

Yep. The Escalade EXT has a waiting list (of sorts) while the Blackwood languished on the lot. Both are an existing "lower-class" pickup with a $30,000+ body kit. Go figure.

Can't recall which mag I read it in, but the reason for the departure of the Blackwood was because Ford couldn't make a bed that met Lincoln's quality standards.

I think the sales or lack there of had a lot to do with it

Lack of sales...to an EXTREME...I think they were under 1000 units per month or something utterly nasty like that...

At one point, a dealer around here was giving away a Focus with every Blackwood. Free.

I think if it wasn't for the high price and those ugly lines across the bed...they might of sold a lot more then they did.....A guy a few blocks away from me bought one and has been trying to sell it for about a year already. The price was more then the escalade ext and the H2's...which are nicer looking.

My friends who sell Fords, Dodges, and GM trucks all tell me that the interest in really big trucks is off. Not selling any big GMs in this region. They talk about the return of the station wagon kind of SUV and combo truck as where the action will go. I guess kind of like the DC Pacifica (sp?) Not sure where GM is going. Tried to buy a little SSR and the price went from 32k to 46k in a month with no delivery date set. So decided to build out an old 71 Cheyenne and drive it dailyand let them play with someone else'e head.
