It's nice and easy to blame all these people on your predickiment but the perso0n you should really be blaming is the one who did the substandard brake job in the first place!!! WHO WAS THAT????????

I feel you pain. I have gotten the run around from chevy and from other places as well. I know exactly what you are talking about. It makes you want to go back and shove it in there face and say "See". but then again, that would mean you would actually have to talk to them again, so it is not worth it. It is amazing how the people working for chevy don't know a lot about what they sell. But then again, there are a lot of different cars that they sell and have to provide parts for, so it would be easy to forget some things.
Cdowns, The BOLT broke. What does that have to do with a "substandard brake job"? Just curious. Low68

Nice looking ride................
I had something like that from a local Harley Shop on the 02, told them it would never come back to their shop.... That's one reason I went back to an older rig. I can do the work and only have me to blame............

One question....why not just go down to any auto parts store and get a grade 8 bolt to put in your caliper? They ususally have a HUGE stock of bolts in the back, and should have what you need.
I agree, don't go to the Chevy dealer for any parts. I tried to buy a turn signal switch from the one in town, and the parts lady says "Sorry, we don't carry parts for anything that old anymore". Grr....guess they forget about the vehicles they made 30 years ago. Plus AC or GM parts are quite expensive from the dealer, and while they are almost always good parts, i dunno if the expense is worth it.

Oh, I feel your pain!
My story is a real joke. I feel GM hasn't made a real Truck since the early 70's. In 1989, I made the mistake of buying a NEW 89 Crew Cab Duelley from William Morris Chevy in Simi Vally Calif. Great...NO.. Driving it home that evening as the dealer closed, the front end was so far out of allignment that I nearly had no rubber left on the front tires when I got home, 30 miles away. I called the dealer the next morning and they said to DRIVE it back. Yeah.. 3 hours later they gave me back the truck, complete with almost bald tires.. That was the first of several visits. End of this story was GM bought it back. To get me in the ultimate rig, I bought a new 1990 Suburban 4x4.. 54 trips back to the dealer I got this one bought back. I gave in to my wife who wanted to be yuppie and be a "mini van mom" . I bought her a new Astro van.. I owned it for 4 months before I drove it on to the lawn of the Chevy dealer, went inside and threw the keys at the A$$hole that owned the dealer and said call me when the check comes. This van had terminal anti lock brake problems that they couldnt fix at ALL! Yes, lemmon law buy back #3. At this point I was told to leave the dealer and go elswhere. The problem is that the final dealer owned the Chevy, Ford, Honda, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, dealers so basically, I was screwed. That was when I pulled my 72 Cheyenne that my dad bought me when I graduated High School and started to restore it. I since then bought a 72 Suburban and restored it for the wife. Tho she resented not having that new car smell, all her friends loved her "ride". They all drove brand new SUV'S and thought classic old chevys were great. Since then, Ive given in and bought several new yuppie cars for the wife, but.....Never at the dealer that threw me out. I might add, I did pay cash (for the 89) but they just didnt want my business. I still honk and wave my finger at this guy every chance I get. I even cruse the service dept and express my love to the wanna be mechanics that couldnt ever fix my cars. Thank God, there are still 67-72 Chevys on the road today. I would love to trade off my 80 Corvette for a 72 big block if anyone out there has one! GOD BLESS AMERICA and piss on Iraq!!!! |
