How wide a front tire can you have without any problems?

I have a 74 w a 3 inch drop. I have some 265's on a 15 inch rims in the front. They rub a bit and I want to know whats a safe size tire so that it wont rub up front anymore.

Ive seen 295/50-15 on a factory 8" rally with a 4" drop and they had no problems. what the tire profile on the 265s and whats the width and back spacing of your wheels

I run 275/60/15's on factory 8" ralleys with a 4" drop and they don't hit anywhere.....

Re: How wide a front tire can you have without any problems?

My rims are 15x8..I dont know the backspacing of my rims. I found some American Racing rims that are the same style as the ones I have. The backspacing is 3.75 on those.

Re: How wide a front tire can you have without any problems?

Wonder if 275 60 15's on 10" rims would work? I've got those on back of my truck and would like them all the way around.
