Is this a common problem with our trucks?
I've torn down 2 trucks lately and both had the same crack on the front crossmember. Also check out the cracked trailing arm mount on the rearend housing.

Kinda hard to see in this pic but BOTH driver and pass side were cracked in the same place!

I'd bet that's from frame "flex", as in the type of flex that offroaders talk about.

Since the only 2 trucks I've torn down have this problem I would say there are a lot of cracked crossmembers out there...check yours out...this could lead to other problems.

after 40+ years this happens,, a body cars the lower a arm get the same type cracks..

these for the most part were not pleasure vehicles they were used and abused work vehicles in extreme service situations most times
