Re: notching when u drop

A c notch is a notch cut into the frame and reinforced to allow the rear end more clearance before it hits the frame. There are also step notches that basically replaces a section of frame to allow even more clearance. These are used for vehicles with extreme drops.

Re: notching when u drop

that would depend on if you plan on carrying anything in the bed or your expectations of bottoming out. I would notch it if you drop it 4" or more.

Re: notching when u drop

the above drop was around a 4-9 drop djm 3" drop spindles, 2 djm drop coils rear beltec flip kit, bltec 2" drop shackles, and removed 3" leafs out of 6 leaf spring pack, but that drop didn't last very long I switch the coils to 3" ground force drop which lowered the front about 2 more inches, and added the leafs to the pack for around a 6-8

no just cut the 4 rivets off the factory bump stop above the rear axle and get some stubby bump stops

Agree just remove the bumpstops and bracket and you'll have plenty of travel, this is my 83 with a flip kit and no C notch and she hasn't bottomed yet, except when I carried a load of rocks and the axles were on the frame

Pops, I'm interested in those bump stops you posted. However, the listing has black stops pictured but to the right it says "red".
