68'C-10 rear discs

I've been researching the threads for rear axle info.I have an 86'IROC posi rear with disc.It is 5X4 1/2 pattern lugs. But ,it has emergency brake setup on it factory,it also is 55 1/2 " backing plate to plate just like my single track rear.Should have to remove spring perches and shock mounts but those are already located on the trailing arms stock.I'll have to change brake lines and fab emergency brake cable connectors but not much more. This seems a pretty simple and fairly cheap way to get 5 lug and disc on the rear.Any comments...advice...always willing to exam another point of view.

Re: 68'C-10 rear discs

First,... WELCOME to the board.
The IROC rearends are 5x4.75" bolt pattern.
I consider them equilivent to an S10 rearend.
Kinda lightweight in my opinion,... for our big trucks.
There are many aftermarket disc brake kits that use the original rearend.
Captainfab is a member here.
He sells an affordable set of disc brake brackets for our trucks also.
I believe he also has a 6-lug kit.

If you do decide to install the IROC rearend,... take plenty of pics and post how well everything works.
