They live !!

Well after about eight years of no washers and intermittent wipers they finally work. I slowly bought all AC Delco switches for the steering column and paid a shop to replace all switches and starter switch inside the column. Just installed a universal washer pump. I had a total of 7 delay modules from junk yards in my stash. Second one tried worked ! But sadly guys/gals she's going away soon. After almost ten years of owning her it's time for a new one in the stable. I'm sure some high school kid will enjoy it as much as I have. Been a damn good truck. Only stranded me once and that was the tranny shops fault. Forgot the front clip on the seal. Looking at new GMC's A few more tads to tidy up on her and the signs going on her. My daughter is sad to see the "bananna boat" go away as she grew up with it.

Re: They live !!

Nice result. If you are looking at GMCs, check out an ext. cab SL. It comes with all the nice power equipment, XM, OnStar, nice upholstery and seats, privacy tint, and 4.8L. Much better deal than a comparable Silverado, IMHO. Crew cabs are nicer for a family, but you get a real short box, and they cost several thousand dollars more. I got 15.5 mpg city on my 2010 but only drove it for about 1000 miles before trading it in for a new Equinox LS. If you can wait until the end of the model year (October/November) you can get the best price, or wait until the next model year and buy one in early January. Pretty much the longer you wait the better, because higher gas prices mean that trucks will be hard to sell and will be deeply discounted. Also, GM is due for an extensive upgrade to compete with the new Fords, especially their super fuel efficient and powerful V6, so you might wait for a new design from GM. If you can tolerate no rear seat and plan to keep the truck a long time, a V6 work truck is still the best vehicle value out there. I buy a lot of new GM trucks and SUVs.

Re: They live !!

it's THE first FOMO vehicle I've ever owned. I drive a two year old one ton Dura Max Diesel van for work, and getting in to a new GMC or Chevy pick up was just like getting in to my work van. Same wheel, same stereo, same cluster. It just didn't seem like a new truck. Looked at Dodge. Scared of them. Had a lemon 81 and just couldn't take that chance again. Sour grapes. Nissan, didn't even look. Toyota, parts shortages, hidden flaws and radioactive perlacement parts. This is all just me. My 84 chevy , second owner I only put 58k miles on it in 10 years, so this new one sould last a while. It better. My 84 will make somebody happy with all the resto work I did on it

Re: They live !!

The F-150 is a nice truck. Keep it under warranty. You don't want to work on it.
