Swapping an indash AMP meter to an indash VOLT meter

I got a 74 model truck that came with an AMP meter in the dash.I'm rebuild the dash and wiring. Can I swap a factory Volt meter in place of the AMP meter. I'm installing a GM serpentine system that comes with a 100 amp CS style alternator which is way to much for the old AMp meter.
Thanks

Yes, swapping the AMP meter for a voltage meter is a simple swap.

Remove the amp meter. Remove the 'clips' on the back of the housing that allow contact to be made w/the printed circuit board. Install the voltage gauge. Connect a good under-dash 12v power source to the voltage gauge & then another that will ground it under the dash to the cab wall.

Thanks for the reply. The wiring is the last step in a motor swap,Vintage Air install, and new wiring on a 74 Crew Cab.
Thanks
