Fine69 took my truck : (

Mike came over today and hauled the Circuit Rider back to his shop. It needs a few mechanical fixes before I get it back on the road. So today he came over and picked up my truck and he is going to do his magic.

Again my wife reminded me that the only time my truck runs well is when its being towed.

I love your truck. Awesome color combo, wheels and stance. Too bad the last pic had to be muddied up by some goon!

What's Mike gonna do with it??

1) Transmission is leaking

2) Brakes seem soft to me and I feel uncomfortable driving it-so he is going to check them out.

3) Slight PS leak

It just needs some minor tweaks before it is ready to cruise the highway. Once Mike does his magic it's going back to the body shop for a few finishing touches.

Then the Circuit Rider will safely make her presence known

Thanks for the kind words.

This truck looks wayyyy better in person than the pics show. It is very nice.

Paint is almost flawless. It just needs a little "finesse".

Then he needs to just drive it. Sitting not being driven is hard on them.

Won't be long and he will be sylin', and profilin'....

Re: Fine69 took my truck : (

Update...
Fine69 removed the front springs...and these are the wrong springs for a BB truck. I called Stan at ECE and explained the history of this purchase and he will give me a full refund. This is going beyond what I was expecting as I bought these off ECE last July. I have driven the Circuit Rider very little since last Aug. The reason was the truck just didn't feel right on the road. Just thought I should post what a stand up guy Stan of ECE is. Stay tune for more of the story os as the ...!Circuit Rider rolls.

I have been with DeWayne throughout this build, and let me tell you... He has the patients of a saint and lots of good humor to boot. I would work with Dewayne any day any time. I miss his "joke of the day" too when he would call. I hope his truck exeeds all of his expectations when done. Oh, and by the way DeWayne, where's that hot dog I sent you... I thought I might see it hanging from the mirror.. WES

I really haven't had that many issues considering it's a frame off resto. Curt did a wonderful job on the body and frame but he had a few issues with the mechanics. I can't fault Curt or Stan for the wrong springs. Stan had the springs sent from the factory and Curt wasn't all that familiar with the factory springs. Things are working out well and fine69 has the mechanics under control. I have read horror stories on other resto's so all in all things have gone fairly well. Could it have been smoother? Yep. But it is what it is and this forum has been a great help and that includes WES. Where else could one have a hot dog shipped from Washington.
The Circuit Rider is getting close to being a road warrior.

I am a lot closer now than I was a month ago. As mentioned I am in the final tuning stages and the Circuit Rider is in fine hands. Soon the Circuit Rider will be free to roam the roads in all her glory.

Re: Fine69 took my truck : (

Ok...Update

The new and corrrect front springs are installed and they "do" make a difference in the handling.

Mike installed the new tumblers so one key will open both doors and ignition.

New 15" TT Originals installed with TA's.

Back brakes have been adjusted so now the trucks brakes work as it should.

Mike is going to paint the steering column the correct black.

Carb is being sent to Ca. for a 100% rebuild. Then it will be installed along with installing the correct 400 kickdown switch.

It's almost ready for the highway.

cool deal! In addition to being a good vehicle transporter and mechanic/restorer...Mike's also a cool dude

He forgot to ship out some small items for a bit. I was in no real hurry but he felt bad for the delay and shipped me a bunch of cool literature for our trucks to go along with the original items!!!

Re: Fine69 took my truck : (

Ok... here is the picture of the two front BB springs. The spring that was in the truck was about 3/8" smaller in dia. then it should have been, which prevented the spring from fitting correctly. These springs were sent directly from the factory as ECE did not have any in stock. In order for me the get the springs in time so they could be mounted and having the Circuit Rider ready for the Yellow Springs meet...Stan had the springs sent directly from the factory. ECE/Stan did their part in great customer service.

ECE-Stan is making good on these springs…although these springs were shipped last July they are the wrong springs. Hat’s off to Stan.

Instead of asking for credit which wasn't my intentions since it has been 9 months since I purchased these springs...I asked Stan if he would make a donation to the Yellow Springs Ohio truck meet...He said yes and he will be sending a $100 Gift certificate that will be used as a door prize for our meet this August meet.

fine69 is a class act. Mike is fine tuning the mechanics so when I get the Circuit Rider back it will be a fun truck to drive. The tilt should be a gloss black I believe. If I am incorrect I'll let someone jump in.
