1988 2wd longbox Sierra
Just thought id start my own thread here so i have somewhere reliable to save my pics. Not much progress so far, but ill keep it updated as much as possible.
So heres my story... I have been lookin for my own driveable truck since i was about 15, i would search through kijiji reliogously allmost every night trying to find the right one. I allmost had a couple a few times, but the deal always fell through in some way. Then one night I just opened the homepage and there she was, i knew that was the truck i was getting. I phoned the guy the next day and he said he would hold it for me since i was driving so far. I paid him $1600 but then he turned around and gave me 100 bucks back for gas because he knew it was a long way. (nice guy). It had 175,000 when i got it and around 179,000 now. 5.0L 305. bone stock. really clean. Well thats enough story telling, here she is. After i took the grille guard off

Re: 1988 2wd longbox Sierra
Thanks! the body amazed me when i saw it in person, besides a couple dents and dings. The p.o primered the hood and top of cab because he said it was starting to rust, but the bad part is he didnt mask off the windows or mirriors so they need to be cleaned up. But other than that, she is a pretty smooth truck!

Re: 1988 2wd longbox Sierra
Heres the story.
Summer night in early august, my "buddies" and i were havin a couple beers in the garage, havin a good time and just takin it easy. Music is playin outta my truck with doors open keys in it. I got a call a couple hours later and someone else wants me to go to their place for a little shindig. So i shut my truck off, throw the keys on my table and take off. The "friends" that i had over didnt come with me. instead they decided to get a little more liquid courage in their system before they cam back to my place at around 5:30 am. I was allready passed out a long time before that, and i wake up to a phone call, it was the police and they said they found my truck in the ditch about 45 mins north of where i live. I'm pretty hungover at that point and just want to crawl back in bed and pretend it didnt happen, but we had to go. I get there and it doesn't look terrible but i can tell it didnt look good. Bumper was pushed in, drivers fender kinked, grille a little bit smashed and frame might be bent. It turned out to be a couple of the guys who were at my house earylier that night. They were reported, but of course the cops in my town didnt even give them a slap on the wrist. They got away with robbery! Makes a guy sick :S I will be posting pictures of the damage as soon as i get them up.

Re: 1988 2wd longbox Sierra
Damage looks minor on the outside. but the adjusters said the frame was bent up pretty bad. needed alot more work than it was really worth.. sad to say

Re: 1988 2wd longbox Sierra
man thats a sin, that rig is still in better shape than 99% of the trucks my area in similar shape, due to the lack of rust. stuff like this makes me just wanna flip at the people who would do such a thing
