Your oil sending units. Sounds weird, but I'm doing a cluster swap...and need as much help as possible

these trucks didnt have oil sending units for gauges they were mechanical gauges and just had a fitting that the ouoilline hooked up to

Ok....the reason I asked was "they" say the hook up is right by the distributor. I was hoping someone could take a pic so I could find it.
This is my first truck...trying do things on my own

dont have a pic, but its just a hole back there by the Dist. that accepts a brass fitting. You feed either a plastic or copper tubing through the fitting, tighten the fitting down, run tubing through the firewall to the oil pressure guage and tighten the fitting on the back of the guage as well. As far as I know you can just go by your local parts store and by a little kit that has the tubing and the fitings, pretty cheap.

ON a BB it goes right here. I thought it was the same on a SB, but I don't deal much with SB so I am not positive.

Small block connection hole is behind and just to the driver's side. The tubing kit can be bought at most local parts stores.
Big blocks are as shown above.

Beautiful motor, that is the same thing I am working on. A good ol stock looking BBC. Is that a 396 or a 402?
