1966-67 Corvette Valve Covers

For sale I have one PAIR of Corvette valve covers. These are original early Corvette valve covers in their original boxes from the dealer. They have been sitting in my brother's garage, forgotten for a while. They have never been on an engine, not even for mock up. They have the casting line going through the O in Corvette. These are original GM valve covers. GM Part #3767493

$225 plus shipping

Those would look awesome on a RamJet 350!!! There is probably a method of fastening an old rocker cover to Vortec heads. Very Nice!!

These will only fit early heads with offset valve cover mounting bolt holes, not sure what year they changed that.

Chevy went from stagged bolts to in-line bolts in mid-year '59. How do I know?? I once had a set of staggered bolt (9) fin covers. I was told they were used on the rare few factory late '56 and all '57s fuel injected passenger cars, from the factory. They had a hand ground relief in one of the top fins to clear the Rochester injection. Sold them 15 years ago for $60.

These are really nice, wish I had something they fit.

These are NOT the staggered hole covers. They are inline.

Re: 1966-67 Corvette Valve Covers

I have a pair of the staggered bolt pattern, very noticeable differance. Mine are repro and the bolt holes have a longer neck coming up the side of the cover. The covers would be used on intakes that have the oil fill tube with a breather mounted to the intake for crankcase venting. 265, 283 & 327 engines were the engines they were usually on.

Re: 1966-67 Corvette Valve Covers

I just did a little research (Google), and learned that many of the GM performance heads including the Fast Burn aluminums will accept the older style rocker covers. See Photo.

Re: 1966-67 Corvette Valve Covers

Caution, these covers are designed for use with a road draft tube. If your engine uses a PVC system you will have to cut a hole in them for a breather.

I've seen people machine through the intake manifold (air-gap style intake) and locate the PCV valve in the lifter valley (like a Pontiac). No details, but I've seen it done. You have to address oil filling as well.
