the burb is 129.5, the panel should be 115
I am thinking of doing the same thing with my 64'burb, I have decided to cut out 10.5 out , leaving me with a 4 inch longer wheelbaseI have to replace the rear wheelwells anyway, and I like the look of the wb just a llittle bit longer on a 4x4.

here is a photo chop I did of /for my idea:

As long as you have the fabrication skills to shorten the wheelbase, and fabricate all the new body mounts, it should be possible. I've heard that the Suburban frames lend themselves to a swap like this better than the truck frames. On a truck frame, you would end up with about a 3" body lift.

Thanks for the information fellas. Frame shortening is out of the question for me. I really wanted to have the panel sans the 305v6, poor brakes, and old granny gear tranny by just swapping for my burb's frame. What to do now.......

Just swap the front suspension and possibly the rear end from the '87 Suburban under the '64 Panel, along with the power steering and brakes. Then install the engine and trans from the '87 to the '64. It really isn't that difficult. It is a heck of a lot easier that swapping the '64 body onto the '87 frame. There is all the info you need to do this here on the forum. Plus we are here to help out should you need help.

I have a 62 panel with a 86 sub donor. Both are 2wd and everything is there for upgrades.
Plan on swapping front suspension and master cyl with booster, power steering etc. . . May
Swap the tilt column out of the Suburban also. Already has a 355 sb and Borg W. T5 in the 62.
