Quick Ratio Steering Box On Air Bag Truck Question
Okay where to start, I still trying to plan all of this out before I buy something I don't need. I looked back through past posts on this topic and found some info about using new style gearboxes that have roughly a 3 turn lock to lock versus the bus like one's that come factory. In this post http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ht=quick+ratio
68 Suburban used a 77 box, crazy longhorn used a box from a 84 burb that was also 3 turns. So my question is: What are the years that i can find these boxes? 73-87? Anyone with one of those parts interchange manuals? and will they mount cleanly up to my 67 frame that used to have power steering? I don't really want to use washers as spacers to get the thing to mount up properly. Okay the truck is also going to be bagged and i know that i will have to notch out the driverside upper control arm a bit for steering shaft clearance, not a big deal, but i'm wondering if i can avoid it. In a few other posts there was talk about using a van gearbox because they mount at more of an incline and it won't interfere with the upper control arm. Next question is: how cleanly will a van gearbox bolt up to my 67 frame? and ideally are there any Van gearboxes that bolt right up to my 67 frame that are 3 turns lock to lock? K that's it! Thanks for reading it all guys!! Your help is much appreciated Jared
