Anybody lower a factory bench seat?
Just wondering if anyone has ever lowered the the slider or mount of a bench seat?

Never had the need but I don't see why you couldn't do it. Just take an even amount out of the front and back.

I lowered mine to get more headroom. I cut the rear bracket and re-welded it to gain about 1".

I have for a buddies truck. If you look at it it's pretty easy. We cut the seat down 2" I think. Looked alot cooler down low.

You wouldn't necessarily have to cut the frame mounts. As long as you are using custom upholstery, the careful and appropriate cutting/shaping of the foam on the bottom and back cushions might also generate a lower seating position.
