stock temp gauge question
I just installed a gauge cluster in place of my idiot light cluster. Everything works except my temp gauge slowly went into the hot range. I just got a new sending unit. How do I know if the gauge is bad or if I got the wrong sending unit?

I had the same problem, pulled the cap on the radiator, dropped a kitchen thermometer into it.... started it up and watched the thermometer top out at about 180, yet my temp gauge was at max hot... sender was new, so I replaced the gauge with one from a spare cluster, and that fixed it.... the gauge was bad.
