What headers/exh manifolds are you running on big block trucks??

We are doing a 68 swb chevy with a 454. it has headers on it now. it has been lowered and the headers are just too close to the road for us, appearance and clearance issues. Has anyone used those block huggers on a big block truck? Looking for ideas, thanks.

Hate the way mine looks in that department too, hope to fit a set of short tube headers one day and run the exaust through the crossmember...all neat & tidy.

I took off my headers and went back to factory manifolds. I too didn't like the way the headers looked under the truck.

I really like the fit and they flow good, too. They are GM, the tubes are stainless and they take a much better lower donut seat. They did come in square port and round port although I have mixed them up and with good copper or stainless gaskets, they seal either way.

Re: What headers/exh manifolds are you running on big block trucks??

I run Stan's Headers, Tri-Y's.. have had a set on my 68 4X4 for 25 years and they are still going strong.
They are 16ga 2" tubes with 3/8" thick flanges and use the "ball socket" collectors instead of the "3 bolt". best of all they do not hang below the frame. I will admit they are pricey, just purchased a set for a 4X4 in the shop and they were $650.00

I have Hooker SuperComp headers. They hang down a bit low.
