TH400 kickdown

I have a 69 gmc with a factory 396 and th400. Question is can I use the aftermarket Lokar kickdown switch instead of the factory type which had a switch at the carb and a wire harness all over the place? I have a quadrajet BTW. Has anybody done this or are all the th400's the same as far as being able to mount a different type of kickdown? Long story short I lost the linkage parts for my switch!
Thanks
Mike

Re: TH400 kickdown

From what I understand the Lokar works pretty darn good. If I can't find a switch at the boneyard pretty soon I'll probably get the Lokar switch.

Re: TH400 kickdown

I have the Lokar kickdown switch on my '69. I ran it with a Quadrajet at first, which involved a little grinding on the base plate of the carb to get the mount to fit correctly. You must use a Lokar throttle cable bracket to mount the kickdown.
